Tea Talk #9 | In The Words Of Hugh Grant...

You all probably think that I'm absolutely mental with the title being about Hugh Grant but hear me out, this makes sense - trust me. So if you've all watched the best Christmas movie EVER, Love Actually, you might have a slight idea as to what I'm talking about. In the opening scene at the airport Hugh Grant says a little speech in a voiceover which ends with him saying something along the lines of 'I find that love actually is all around.' This is what today's Tea Talk is about; love actually is all around so let's get into the blog post.

Love is actually quite a difficult emotion to explain. The reason why? Because there are so many different types of love. The dictionary doesn't have just one definition for love either because there are hundreds upon hundreds of kinds of love. There's platonic love, lust instead of love, passionate love, family love, friendship love - the list goes on forever and ever until it rides off into the sunset.

Hugh Grant didn't specify what type of love was right or wrong within his opening monologue of Love Actually and in a way I'm glad. There's so much taboo surrounding what love is right and wrong and what we should do about love and what we shouldn't blah blah blah blah blah. I'm almost sick and tired of it to be honest. If you want to love someone - love them, no matter what people say or think. Love someone in secret, love someone out loud, love someone however you want to love someone. If you love a girl, love a girl. If you want to love a guy, love a guy. If you want to love someone thirty years older than you, love someone thirty years older than you. Love whoever you want to love and don't give a damn about what other people think.

It's taken years and years for people to realise that love is love no matter who it's between and it still seems to be an issue in certain places of the world which annoys me so much. People died for what they believe in; for loving others equally no matter gender or sexuality. We were taught to stand up for what we believe in and no matter what people think I believe that we should all stand up for each other and the people we love. Controversial opinions? Maybe but I couldn't care less.

Last thoughts? Love. Love widely, love deeply, love a whole bunch. Love your family and friends and girlfriends and boyfriends. Just love and don't forget to love because it's one of the only certainties in life that we'll get to love people.

So there you go; another tea talk and more opinions. Are there any topics you'd life me to discuss in the future? Leave any suggestions below and I'll be sure to check the comments out.

The Spring Tag.

Happy Easter everyone, I hope you're having a fabulous day and you've eaten your body weight in chocolate. I thought to celebrate Easter on my blog I thought I'd do the Spring Tag which I was recently tagged in by Marianna from Crazy In Life. Thank you for the tag Marianna, let's get on with this!

Favourite spring nail polish?
Up until last year the only colour I would wear on my nails was black, yes I went through that stage as a teenager. Anyway, I made a promise to myself at the start of 2015 that I would hardly ever wear black nail polish and no word of a lie I haven't worn black nail polish since. I much prefer the bright colours to pastel colours in Spring. I always find that pastel nail polish colours make my hands look blue, weird I know. Anyway, I love wearing bright pinks or blues or purples throughout Spring and very much into Summer.

What is your must-have lip colour this spring?
I've got no clue what it's called because it came in a Soap & Glory makeup set for my birthday two years ago. I literally love the colour. It's kind of a mix between a pink and nude colour, it's definitely a your lips but better sort of shade. It's gorgeous and extremely easy to wear with any outfit, to any occasion - I sometimes even wear it to school! I definitely recommend that you check out any of the Soap & Glory makeup products because they're all amazing!

Show us your favourite spring dress!
Funny story, I don't own a single casual dress for Spring. Crazy right? I should probably pick one up if I'm all that honest. Do any of you have any recommendations for stores that do nice casual Spring dresses? Let me know in the comments below!

What's your favourite flower?
Peonies, babies breath and roses. I just think that they're so beautiful and gahh just thinking about them makes me want to go and buy them. They're just so beautiful, simple as.

Favourite spring scarf/accessory?
I'm not an accessories gal if I'm all that honest. I do however love wearing earrings but not overly massive ones. My mum bought me a pair of earrings for my birthday which I love and haven't stopped wearing them. I'm not quite sure where they were from but they're just so gorgeous.

Favourite spring candle?
I never get to pick candles in my house but I love the candles that my mum chooses to burn. She always picks floral ones to burn in the Spring and they always smell amazing! I never know which scents she burns but she always chooses Yankee Candle candles any time of the year really, they're very strong in scent and make the whole house smell delicious!

Favourite body spray/perfume for spring?
I recently received a Victoria Secret spray for my birthday in the scent 'Love Spell.' It smells so fruity and sweet, I'm almost afraid that I'm going to use it up so quickly that it won't last me very long at all.

What is spring like where you live?
Spring in England can vary a lot. I mean one minute it can be bright sunshine then the next it can be pouring it down. As I write this the weather isn't too bad, it's not the sunniest of days but it isn't tipping it down with rain. The weather can be very temperamental in Britain especially in England. What's the weather like in other places in the world?

What's your favourite thing about spring?
Most definitely the flowers. I seriously love them so much as you can probably tell from my lack of words to the what's your favourite flower question. I love the colours and the brightness of them all.

Are you a spring cleaner?
Actually I'm not, I'm more of a winter cleaner. Is that even a thing? I always prefer to have a good tidy before Christmas to make room for presents so there's never really a reason for me to do a big clean in spring as well. Are you a spring cleaner or a winter cleaner like me? I'd really love to know!

Any plans for spring break or an upcoming vacation?
No. Instead I have a serious pile of revision to do. I start my exams in just under two months and they'll last for a month so for the next three months I will basically have no social life at all. I'm sure that all of you who are currently in Year 11 are stressing about exams feel the same way as I do but I know that doing nothing social now will pay off in a few months.

So that's that, all my Spring related questions and answers. Thank you again Marianna for tagging me in this again. I've decided to tag all of you reading this with a blog to answer these questions, I'd love to know the answers! So go, go, go and don't forget to tweet me with your answers!

Prom Talk #1 | Priorities

So as of today there are about three months until my prom. I'm majorly excited and cannot wait to dress up like a princess and have a right party with all my school friends one last time before we all part ways to start the next step in our educational career. Anyway I thought that I'd start a little series on my blog discussing the experiences I'm having as I search for the perfect dress, shoes, accessories, transport etc. etc. etc.

I've sorted out two things so far when it comes to prom; transport and the dress. My advice? Put these at the top of your list - these are the biggest priorities. You might not think transport is but trust me when it comes to booking transport to prom you don't want to leave it too late. It was the first thing that the group I'm going with sorted out and I'm really glad we did. We've decided to go down the traditional route. I don't want to give too much away because I want you to see everything in photos but I'll give you the colour of the car; chrome.

Now onto the other thing I've done; the dress. Yes, I went on a spontaneous shopping trip to a local prom dress shop and tried on around 20 dresses then narrowed it down to 2. It was between a red and blue one which were both slightly similar in style but there was one I loved just that bit more. I'm not going to tell you anything about the dress not even the colour. Advice for dress shopping? Try on lots of different styles and colours but also get a dress you know you're going to be comfortable in for a good five hours or so, give or take a few.

Yesterday I then took my dress to a lovely woman who does dress alterations seeing as I'm such a short arse and my dress is too long even in 4 inch heels!! Anyway I have to have a few inches off of the bottom of the dress but the woman informed me of something quite interesting that chiffon - the fabric of my dress - is quite hard to alter because it's like 'handling water' as she put it. This is something that I'd keep in mind when buying a dress; if you're going to need lots of alterations or don't really want a lot of alterations then maybe try stay away from chiffon because there's usually a lot of excessive fabric.

My mum has also booked my hair, makeup and nails appointment so I'm looking for inspiration for that. If you have any ideas for hairstyles, makeup or nail inspiration then make sure to send me pictures on Twitter! I'd love to see any ideas that you have, just one thing - no red lips; Marianna told me that they're a nightmare to wear for a long period of time when you're dancing.

So that's it. That's what I've done so far. I've actually done quite a lot with some help from my mum. I'm excited for prom and can't wait to spend a kickass night with good friends and hopefully some good food and good music...hopefully.

Collabro | One Of The Best Nights Ever

On Friday night I did one of the best things ever to date. If you remember my 'What I Got For My 16th Birthday' I received one of the best birthday presents ever and that was a ticket to go and watch Collabro in concert on Friday in Stoke. Collabro won Britain's Got Talent two years ago and sing musical theatre songs. They're one of my favourite boy bands and I cried when I received this present. Anyway, on Friday I went on my way to Stoke singing songs from their albums as loud as I could along with one of my best friends and her mum. Anyway I thought I do a quick blog post to sum up the night and share a few photos. These photos aren't all mine I'd just like to say, they're people's photo who shared the amazing night.

I didn't actually watch the series of Britain's Got Talent when Collabro won because it's not my favourite show but when the best friend I went with showed me some of their performances of YouTube as the show was on and I became hooked. They were just so different and something that was out of the ordinary. I have a real love for musicals so Collabro were kind of perfect for me. I just love listening to their music. I didn't get the chance to go to their first tour and to be honest I didn't think I was going to have the chance to go this tour so when I got the tickets I was literally so happy and was counting down the days until I went and saw them.

The Act Two album is my favourite album to date out of the two albums Collabro have brought out and the tour really exceeded my expectations. The way the stage was and the way the songs were performed were just astounding! Also, I really liked that Collabro did songs that weren't on any of their albums; I don't want to spoil these songs for anyone going to watch the boys but all I will say is that a particular Mumford & Sons song was a particular favourite of mine - I hope they put it on a future album.

Whenever I've been to a concert the support acts have always been a bit iffy but the support acts at the Collabro concert were freaking amazing! AJ Brown came on before Collabro came onto the stage and I have officially become obsessed with him, I've actually become so obsessed with him that I've order his EP with the songs he performed in his set. Catriona Murray was the other support act, she's an opera singer who came onto stage and sang some songs by herself but also joined in on The Phantom of the Opera songs - literally The Phantom of the Opera that she sang with Collabro sent chills down my spine, it was amazing!

I really had an amazing time and am now kind of obsessed with the idea of going to all of Collabro's concerts; they're just so friendly in concert and seem to connect with their audience so well. The photo below is their classic selfie that the boys take on stage. Me, my friend and her mum sat on the upper level where the lights are in the middle and to be honest the seats were freaking amazing - it doesn't look like it in the further away photos but the seats were really great.

So there's a rambly blog post that doesn't really make any sense but I really just wanted to express my gratitude and talk about one of the best nights of my life. Please if only once listen to Collabro's songs - I've been listening to them non-stop all week and now cannot stop. I hope you enjoyed this blog post, until next time!

Style Icon | The Pinterest Edition

I'm bringing back the Style Icon's but instead of focusing on a certain celebrity I thought I'd take inspiration this week from Pinterest, a very Tumblr-esque website that allows you to save photos into different folders. That's probably one of the worst explanations ever but here's a link to my Pinterest profile so you can understand how it works slightly better than my explanation. Anyway, I thought I'd take some of my favourite outfit posts from Pinterest and share them with you to explain how I taken inspiration from them. I'm not going to explain each item of clothing in detail seeing as there are way too many outfits to get through. So without further ado let's get into it.

T-shirt dresses are something that have been becoming extremely popular just about everywhere and even though I am yet to jump on the bandwagon of buying one I am looking for the perfect one. I just really love how flowy they are and don't really hug your body so you can wear them on days where you want to look dressy but be extremely comfortable. Do any of you have any ideas of where I can buy a nice t-shirt dress? I'm really into the grey ones of stripey ones!

Two pieces, specifically the shorts and shirts versions, are a new love in my life. I've been a bit obsessed with playsuits for a while but am now looking to branch out and two pieces is what I've seemed to lay my eyes on. I just think that they look so classy and put together. I feel as if you can make them look quite casual or dress them up to go out in depending on the style of two piece you chose. I'm quite fond of the blues, whites, greys and blacks - very basic colours which can be dressed up or down.

Now onto the random items of clothing. I'm really obsessed with the low cut, stripey or checkered patterns on them. Whilst looking through these photos I've now come to realise that I have a serious obsession with stripes and checks, is there somewhere I can go for help with that obsession? Something that I've really been loving from Pinterest is blue denim that is slightly washed out. I don't think I've worn blue denim since I was about 10 but have really gotten into it. I am yet to buy any blue denim, actually no that's a lie - I've bought a blue denim skirt which I am in love with.

So there's my Style Icon, The Pinterest Edition. Are there any items of clothing from Pinterest or any other websites that you're loving? I'd love to know, I know this wasn't the best blog post ever but I really wanted to get one up for you. Love you all!
